What type of Brakes Should you Have?
A very common and needed upgrade for 1979-93 Foxbody Mustangs are bigger and/or better brakes. There are many options available to you as a Foxbody owner wanting to improve your 60 to 0 times and stopping distance. However, some of these do require wheels with specific and different offsets than stocks. Our Pony R wheels were designed with these optional brakes setups in mind and are not SN95 after thoughts. Like most wheels out there, they are designed for SN95 Mustangs first and Foxbody owners are left with wheels that are not exactly the best fit. In the case of Sn95 rotors/spindles and axles, these parts push the wheel out toward the curb. A higher offset wheel is then needed to move the face back in toward the center of the car. Typically the SN95 axles and rotors are broken down into two categories, 1994-95 and 1996-2004. Below we have provided a table with possible brake/suspension setups that you might have on your Foxbody Mustangs. In that table we have suggested optimum Pony R wheel sizes and offsets for the front and back. If you still have any questions or concerns after viewing the table below, please do not hesitate to contact by email for phone. Thank you. Please note, Mustang is a registered trademark of Ford Motor Co. Pony R wheels suggestions based on brake setup.
