Ashtray Door Differences

There two types of Ashtray doors used on the 1987 to 1993 Mustangs. From 1987 to 1989, metal doors were used. In 1990 and 1991, both metal and plastic doors were used. Lastly, 1992 and 1993, Mustangs had plastic doors. The figure below shows a metal door on the left (light blue) and a plastic door on the right (gray). Notice that the metal door is one peice while the plastic door has a metal plate on the underside. With the MavroMont kit, the metal plate under the plastic door is no longer needed.
